Tbh I think they would see each other in a similar fashion to this car scene, with Clay or Viva spotting her from the walls of the hole n fun, and Jade passing by on her bird. There's a 50 50 chance Jade just leaves rather than landing for a moment, thinking she's going crazy cuz why would trolls be at a bergen golf course??? But there's also the chance she does land thinking maybe she isn't crazy, and maybe John and Lief are there.

She'd be able to tell Clay that John is alive and then tell him about Lief, Viva would definitely ask about Poppy but Jade wouldn't be able to give her answer since at this time she doesn't know if Poppy's alive, but she promises to keep an eye out. This would end with her leaving soon after to continue searching, she doesn't want to spend too much of her time not looking for her family so either way their meeting is very brief.

the recent posts about endeavor getting shotos phone number reminded me of a bit in a fic i read a while ago where some of the students were prank calling endeavor (monoma might have been involved? or he mightve prank called the hpsc president or something. cant remember) id tell you the fic but i forgor and thats kinda a shame because the parts i do remember were pretty fun! anyways im sleepy and i dont know where im going with this ask but i thik it would be funny if shoto handed off his phone when endeavor called to someone who could make him absolutely regret it. make him think he got the wrong number or something

That does sound like it could be a fun fic concept. Monoma or Shinsou seem like the ideal picks to prank call Endeavor. Monoma would diss Shouto because he is a member of Class 1A which would drive Endeavor up a wall. Shinsou with his modifier could imitate anyone's voice, so he could say whatever with a very low chance of getting caught. Imitating All Might's voice to trash talk Endeavor would be a fun choice.

If it was a text conversation only, Kaminari and Sero would be good options for trolling Endeavor, but they would likely get cold feet in a live conversation and hang up quickly.

Thinking abt trolls 3 and why it picked up so much traction compared 2 the other 2 movies. Like technological advancements aside I think the main thing is just the character lineup.

Movie one was mostly branch and poppy. All the kidnapped trolls operated as One entity really so it’s not like u could particularly??? Care about them too much. Bridget and Gristle were really really fun but the villain wasn’t anything particularly special or noteworthy judging by just how little people. Talk about her. OH and also creek was there (literally forgor im rereading this for typos and adding this now) but like. Oh no the guy who showed up for like 5 minutes is a Bad guy and im supposed to care about the quest to save him mostly just because theyre telling the audience they should care because Poppy cares . But theres just not a lot of setup (and Creeks just not that. Interesting?)

Second movie had considerably More bangers and was definitely going in the right direction character wise. But it had the Opposite problem with wayyy too many guys that were really interesting and not a lot of time to do anything with them. You get King Trollex’s intro, Biggie, Cooper and Prince D and their parents, Delta Dawn, and Allll the bounty hunter trolls, PLUS Barb and the rock trolls. Barb was definitely a prime example of a major upgrade from the movies, having a villain that the audience actually vibed with and u could Tell by fan reactions I think. (Parb sweep) But there was just. Sooo so much, on top of the lore dump and a plot that you really had to get cool with really quick to get invested in. theres a bunch of new trolls and these strings that are definitely super important promise (lie)

The third one feels like they finally like. Know what theyre doing. With their own universe. No big lore dumps, theres not even any Explanation for what Mount Rageous is, they just introduce you to it and the Rageons with confidence thru Velvet and Veneer and expect you to get it. Plus, theres still a lot of characters, but theyre much more tangibly connected now. All the brozone brothers are well established and have preestablished relationships with each Other so even if we dont get much time with them it doesn’t feel like theyre that out of place. It still requires some suspension of disbelief vis a vis “Branch had Four super secret brothers hes Never mentioned,” but they make it work and frankly, the set-up is a lot more easier to get invested in than “secret magical strings that Invented Magic I Guess.”

And with Brozone and Viva theres a connection To the main characters rather than just being tag-alongs for tag-alongs sake. They’ve all got their own niches to make them individually compelling but theres a connecting thread here so they still feel like they’re a part of the story. And they’re all there to do something!! And then Velvet and Veneer of course continue the vibe that Barb had of being villains with enough screen time and personality that you like them As characters and arent just viewing them as The Plot Obstacle. Which is cool i think. Overall i just think the third movie felt a Lot more confident to do what the fuck ever and thats Really good.

okay Floyd is the most caring out of all the brothers. cant tell me this boy isn't wholesome as shit. That and he would go to the end of the world and back to keep his brothers together.

despite not really knowing what's really happened to JD (basically the whole feral behavior) He's the most willing to be near or around JD reguardless of how terrifying he might seem.

He's still his brother and that doesn't change even if he's entirely different now. Floyd wants to get to know his older brother none the less.

Very gentle and calm well JD is around, he knows JD won't hurt him no matter what his brothers say

gentle touches and pats till JD grows more comfortable with being around trolls again.

Branch

A lot of mixed feelings. He's mad, concerned, scared (for both himself and the trolls around JD because of how unpredictable he is) but he also understands the most clearly what JD could have been put through to turnout like this. (mainly the greyness big oof)

He's still mad at JD but he's also the first one to start really questioning and trying to figure out how he came to be like this.

Do her damned-est to help Branch anyway she can weather that be researching or asking other Trolls, even kingdoms if they've ever had a similar occurrence (she keeps it discreet though out of respect for the brothers)

She is concerned for Branch (the other too ofc) but knows that this is something the brother have to figure on their own.

Makes a scrapbook based on Floyd's description of JD since he's been the closest to him so the other brothers can see JD

Viva

More chill then Poppy but still greatly concerned for the brothers (mainly Clay)

Talks to him about the whole thing so he can vent

Poppy and her also talk to each other about it all well making scrapbooks (Viva helps poppy with making the JD pictures as close to Floyd description as possible)

So..... same anon that send the rant ask that this come from and I just have to say how good this is. Like unbelievably so and everything from your response as well, I cant say this enough I love your writing and how you interpret trolls and their world

Honestly, you're so right that they likely had that "hes in a better place now" (pun not intended), it fits so well with what we know about pop trolls mentality and life-style. The same trolls that erased and forgotten everyone that was lost during the escape, including the heir, would also accept a little brother as dead and go on without checking so they can better ignore the grief of losing him. Thinking about it, thats a way better and in-character reason why Floyd never came back

People say that he was out partying or he forgor or whatever, but the thought that some 3-5 years later he stopped to think and realized "oh... hes probably dead by now", and now having to choose between confirming the "reality" that his brother died waiting for him or just moving forward, be happy and never think about things that upset you (that just pop trolls second nature at this point)

There is a part of me that still wants to write Brozone facing that grief either by having to save Floyd without him or reuniting some other way, now with the added against of "everybody including you forgot your brother ever existed, isn't that fun!". Thinking about it, I may even write that Branch died in the woods or something instead of the bergens. He didn't die because they left him in the tree, he died because they never came back for him. And the same mentality that "helped" them "grief" (read: ignore) his supposed dead is the same mentality that caused the pop village to ignore and ostracize him (that being what actually killed him). Tragic, gut-punching, hope they surfer and cry about it :)

But for my actual headcanon of the brothers mentally during those 20 years, I can only imagine your view of the situation is just that good and accurate. Thank you for entertaining my thoughts and sorry for the rambles lol

It's very in line with Pop mentality to just accept that and move on. Bruce especially lives on Vacay Island where "every day is a vacay". I could see a bit of that mentality existing there. Maybe not the 'sugar coat everything in glitter' degree but 'why worry?' type of ignore your problems.

Branch dying on his own rather than in the tree I think is a way more terrifying reality. Hundreds of Pop Trolls were eaten, and that's seen as the Bergens fault. Branch getting injured and having no one to check in on him so he passes is on the village. It's been mentioned in Rock Sibblings but the fact is, that was a reality Branch faced. Poppy likely would've come by EVENTUALLY but she was younger than him.

In Rock Sibblings the truth is if not for Poppy deciding to follow after him, no one would have ever known what happened to Branch. In Techno Branch and Classical Branch, no one actually does until 15ish years later.

With his brothers, it's sad to say that with an alive Branch, there's very little that could have them initially realizing that Branch is hurt. I mean look at him in Trolls Band Together. He's not fully grey but he's very drastically darker than they all are despite initially all having the same skin tone. Yet none of them react or mention it. They're fine to ignore the situation at hand.

This sounds dumb but I’m good at capturing vibes. I like to be concise so I try to pack a lot of emotion in the fewest words possible.

What are your thoughts on writing dialogue in other languages in a fic?

If it’s a word or line here and there fair enough but if you’re writing a whole exchange that I don’t understand, my eyes are just gonna glaze over it. Dawg, I cannot read that! And also I think there’s such nuance to the way people switch languages when they’re bilingual and a lot of not bilingual people writing bilingual characters do not understand that. It’s both more and less casual than the way most people depict it.

What's your favourite fic you've written?

I love all my children equally, but stuff from this year I’m particularly delighted with are a great threat just because the universe of Paul being the girl beatle was so delicious to play with and also toxic yuri >:), and The McCartney Issue cause it hit me while I was in the midst of struggling with sort of writer’s block and a bit of a confidence dive in terms of writing, and it came to me so fully formed so it was nice to know that spark was still there, and I had a lot of fun with it.

So basically what this is about is my MSPFA. I’ve been thinking about it for a while now. It’s probably going to launch at the start of next year? Or just on the cusp of it. Maybe it will take ‘till next summer. HOMESTUCK SPOILERS FOR LIKE, THE ENTIRE COMIC.

..But what, oh great and mighty emperor, is this MSPFA you so dearly refer to?

First of all, keep calling me by that name. I like it. Second of all, if you would just shut up I could tell you.

This is just me writing to myself, what am I even doing anymore...

So the premise is that there’s a group of twelve kids called the Skyeeters or Sky33ters. And no, this has nothing to do with Nepeta. They’re called that because they’re a skating group, and one time when they were trying to name themselves, one of them tried to get a running start on his board but just got… wait for it, wait for it… yeeted. And the rest is history. ...It’s really dumb and cringe.

Of course, each kid/troll has their distinct personalities and habits and classpects. Since I’m not able to use my drawing tablet atm, y’all will just have to settle for some sketches. In the future.

So! They look on some way old forums, from like ‘98. Archived. Hasn’t been updated at all. They find an action, RPG-esque sandbox game. Sounds fun, like Minecraft, right? What really got them hooked, confused—and definitely curious was when they saw the device support. It had PS(number)s, smart watches, computers, phones that weren’t even out in that time!

They downloaded it. I’ve been saying ‘they’ so far with this talk, and right here I mean one of my characters; Aaron Berr, sir. Might change who finds it later; I’m just choosing Berr because they’re an actual streamer. Later, the friends meet up at le rich friend’s house. They all brought their own devices and are ready to play…

SBURB GAMMA. Let’s all take a moment to appreciate how rich friends houses are always hangout spots, it’s hard and nobody understands. I sure wouldn’t.

You can imagine how hectic 12 player’s individual cruxtruders or totem lathes will be. Actually, hold on.

Maybe they can use just one cruxtruder, but different totem lathes. The dowels that come out of the CXT will change colors. I have yet to classpect them all, let alone their planets in the medium. But there’s something crucial I didn’t mention.

ACT 2, BUT LET’S GO BACK A BIT. TO ACT 1, I MEAN. This isn’t fucking retcon.

Before this, a green cherub descended to earth, in something. I forgor. Bluh bluh, Ayce *Self inserts FTW!!🙌🏾 * finds Carragie first. She’s got a soft voice and a gentle Indian accent. Although, she’s only in a ripped shirt—VERY ripped, and some boxers. He quickly calls one of his friends—Taro, to come over to his area—by a bus stop. And to bring a shirt. He quickly runs to his house and back, getting some of his older sister’s bell-bottoms and hastily transcribing a sloppy note that he’ll pay her back for the missing jeans. When he comes back, Taro is there. Now, of course, she has the proper look of initial shock that you would get, seeing a green and bloodied skull alien, but that quickly dissolves into weary ease as she hears her voice more, the soothing lilt calming her. Imaaaaagine if she was a limeblood.

We all know their purpose was to calm trolls, specifically purplebloods. And red is close to ourple, right?? So…??! Aha, no. Back to the story.

Once they (Ayce and Taro) turn away briefly for her to dress—silently conversing among themselves—she’s wearing a loose shirt with some flared jeans. Pretty nic—ooh, half of her shirt’s not tucked in. They don’t have the heart to tell her; plus it’s quirky in a good way. Or so they think, at least. It doesn’t matter anyway, though, because she’s bleeding out. And they sure as hell aren’t taking her to the hospital!

It’s now that I realize I’ve barely told you about their world. I’ll do that in another post, but basically it’s like a frutiger-aero modern society where humans and trolls live in peace together, also without the hemospectrum. A better world makes losing it hit all the more. So, I mentioned this because in this context maybe they actually would bring her to the hospital, especially since they also specialize in an “”””””alien”””””” race. Heavily quotated because they’re literally just another species, not aliens. But then again, she IS a green skulled REAL alien; pretty and comforting as she is. So he—they reside to the only other option. Transfer her mind from a dying body into a robot! Aradiabot reference. Not saying Rosebot or Davebot because I’ve not read the epilogues. After they introduce her to the rest of the group, the whole team is on it, quickly transferring her mind into a database and making the vessel later. Don’t ask me how, mf it’s the future. It takes a couple weeks, but soon they have her finished, and a new addition to the group. They all like her.

But, oh great and mighty emperor, wouldn’t cause some problems with repeating aspects?

I still have to develop the kids' personalities a bit more, and thus their kernels, but either Ayce or Taro's sprite is...*dramatic reveal* Carragie!

I also need to figure out WHY exactly Carragie would want to be prototyped with the-- I AM SO DUMB. Carragie had her own session! That explains why there's no other personality or whatever inside of her, because she already took control! It would also explain who made THIS human universe. Before you ask how there are trolls in the human universe if Carragie made the uni, my explanation is that Alternia was just another planet drifting through the cosmos that they reached. Shrug! With all the commotion of twelve kids on one floor playing a world-ending game, of course they wouldn't know what to do with the little seizure balls. And if they did, they would most certainly forget. Carragie makes sure they don't, prototyping things for them, with their hasty approval, of course. Wouldn't want something that they didn't like in the wrong kernel. I think I'm gonna pause this idea explanation write here; I think I've wrote enough for the day. Next time, we'll get take two steps back and I'll explain the world around them. After that, I'll continue. *PS: Haven't forgot about a rant about retcon!* Send me asks, guys, please.
